This is my 2014 song of the summer <3

Okay, okay, just one more Labor Day post - this lady is an inspiration! I met her once, long ago, and I was so glad to read that she’s still rocking and running.

Whoop! There he goes, my speedy sweetie. The 38th annual Labor Day Road Race was a wonderful event, as always - Macon really puts this day together well: cool cops blocking the streets for the safety of participants, abundant hydration stations, healthy snacks at the finish line, and a giant play zone for kiddos at the end. Bravo.

Hello, holiday food! I happen to have Labor Day off this year (nurse life = no guaranteed holiday, like ever, but at least there’s holiday pay involved) and I think this menu might be pretty perfect for us to play with. Especially if Jerry runs up an appetite in the annual Labor Day Road Race!

Just reminiscing…these baby cupcakes were delightful and baked fresh by the Bakin’ Bishop in Pigeon Forge, TN. If you’re ever in the neighborhood, stop by for a sweet snack!

Mountain R&R

We enjoyed a very sweet little getaway to see family in TN this week - it was a much needed break for us both after a particularly busy stretch of weeks.

We enjoyed our time away, even simply having the time to talk and catch up during the drive…

Nice weather with cooler temps and endless lovely views…

The company of family…

Plenty of good food…

Two days of rest and relaxation…

…and each other. <3
