Autumn in Spring. Isn’t she cute?

Happy birthday to my mom today. As a tribute, here are a few photos of her over the years — all the way back to 1969 when I was born.

Happy birthday, Mom. I hope you get some joy out of the day, even if we can’t spend it together. See you soon.

Sometime in 2004, probably. Cool swirl effect.

Last night was pizza night — pretty much a tradition when we’re home.

Autumn’s pizza is on top: back and green olives, parmesan cheese, and mozzarella. She dipped hers in Alfredo — a pretty stellar idea.

Mine had a layer of red sauce, a drizzle of homemade Alfredo sauce, sweet Italian sausage, pepperoni, and mozzarella, parm, and cheddar cheeses.

Seriously, it might have been the best pizza I’ve ever made. Both, of course, used my homemade dough and were baked on our Baking Steel

Lunch was at the Greek Corner Pizza, where we relived a bit of our Santorini vacation from 2011: we had Mythos and souvlaki. The only thing missing was the colorful man who tried to talk us into eating something else and the beach. And the pool. And the weather. And the mountains… . OK, it was very different, but still pretty good for Macon.

In the Rising Sun Pub, London, July 30, 2011. Autumn had just arrived in London, and she had her priorities.

Some shots from an early visit (May 13, 2004) to Dad and Sharon’s place in Pigeon Forge, TN. I’m sure Sharon took these photos just as we were about to head back to Georgia.

The last shot is me giving Sharon a ride on the Nighthawk. I think she liked it.
